Objective Use the command line SVN client on Mac OS X. Once you do that, you need to go to your Mac's $HOME/.ssh directory and look for the file id_rsa.pub. To install them go to Downloads for Apple Developers. You’ll see a small window with a white background open on your desktop. To open it, either open your Applications folder, then open Utilities and double-click on Terminal, or press Command - spacebar to launch Spotlight and type "Terminal," then double-click the search result. Don't bother about the repository URL, as most of the time, it is already provided by the subversion administrator with appropriate access. Below command will create a new directory in the current working directory with the name project_repo. Subversion provides the checkout command to check out a working copy from a repository. When using the SnailSVN GUI there is no option to tell svn that the files are text files.
On the command line the workaround is to use svn –force diff, which then treats all files as Text. When trying to perform a “svn diff” on a bash shell script file, svn errors out stating that file is marked as binary. Svn ships with Mac OS X, so all you need to do is open Terminal, navigate to the directory where you want the code, then you can copy and paste that line right in to terminal, hit enter, an voila, the code will be checked out on to your machine.
